E-stamp paper to be introduced on August 31

The project of e-stamp paper would be introduced on August 31 , 2016, that would not only save millions of rupees but would also provide online services to the people, enabling them to avoid queues in the government offices.
Additional District Collector (ADC) Revenue Arif Raheem said this step would be supportive to control the bogus stamp papers because through this process the citizens would feed data online and system would provide them a specific code.
He said credit cards would be accepted for the paper payment and specific bank challan would be issued after the completion of data feeding by the user.
The stamp-papers are being used for different purposes in Pakistan especially for purchase and sale of land. After launch of e-stamp project, sale and purchase of land will be easy and activities of land mafia will be curbed.
Two offices each would be established in Rawalpindi and one each in other tehsils to facilitate the users because no stamp-paper would be issued after August 31. This project will provide facility to the women who face difficulties in getting their inherited property. Their problems will be solved within 30 days.
He said: “The people would get challans and submit fee in any branch of Punjab Bank. A buyer of e-stamp paper will be informed through SMS on the mobile which will make it more secure for the customer. The data of both the buyer and seller will be available in the paper.”
