📝 DHA Lahore Property Transfer Procedure – Seller Residing Abroad
If a seller is living abroad and wants to transfer property in DHA Lahore, the process is legally structured and smooth, provided all documents are correctly attested and submitted.
✅ Step-by-Step Procedure:
Step 1: Prepare Power of Attorney (POA)
- The seller must prepare a Power of Attorney (POA) authorizing someone (usually a family member, friend, or agent) to handle the property transfer in Pakistan on their behalf.
- The POA must specifically mention the authority to sell, sign, and complete the transfer process.
Step 2: POA Attestation Abroad
- The POA must be attested by the Pakistani Embassy/Consulate in the country where the seller resides.
- Some countries also require notarization and attestation by their local authorities before embassy attestation.
Step 3: Send Attested POA to Pakistan
- The attested POA (original document) must be sent via courier to the nominated person in Pakistan (the attorney).
Step 4: POA Verification from Foreign Office (Pakistan)
- Once received in Pakistan, the POA must be further verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Islamabad or its regional offices (Lahore, Karachi, etc.).
Step 5: Submit Documents to DHA Office
The authorized attorney submits the following to DHA Lahore Transfer Office:
- Verified Power of Attorney
- Original Allotment/Transfer Letter of the property
- Copy of CNIC (seller and attorney)
- CNIC and passport copy of the seller (duly attested)
- 2 passport-size photographs of the seller
- Undertaking by attorney (on DHA format)
- Transfer Request Form
- Bank Draft/Pay Order for transfer fee
- Copy of paid dues (if applicable)
- Buyer’s complete details and documents
Step 6: Biometric (Optional / Conditional)
- Biometric verification of the seller may be required, depending on DHA’s policy at the time.
- DHA may accept embassy biometric verification or video call verification in some cases.
Step 7: Transfer Appointment
- A transfer date is given.
- The buyer (and attorney on behalf of the seller) appears in person at DHA Office.
- DHA completes the transfer process and issues the new allotment letter to the buyer.
