Malik Riaz Hussain Behria Town , leading Pakistan real estate tycoon, has recently received the Leadership Performance Award 2015 at the 10th CEO Summit Asia. He is the founder of Asia’s largest real estate development network named Bahria Town. The event was organized by CEO Club Pakistan and Managers Today and the award was given to acknowledge Malik Riaz’s efforts, services and commitments to economic progress of this country.The CEO Club’s President Aijaz Nisar presented him the award during the ceremony where chief executives of leading companies of Pakistan, entrepreneurs, business leaders, investors, policymakers and economic experts were gathered. Few other notable political figures were also present in the event.
Speaking at the occasion, he said the powers that cannot come out of crises cannot progress. He said Pakistan needs leader and not rulers. Several issues can be resolved such as we can save people from dying in floods, if dams and water reservoirs are built in Pakistan. He expressed grief while telling that 80 million children do not go to school and 40 million are short of food. He has been doing business in Pakistan for 40 years and things could not come on the right track until system is improved.
It means that the present system and its managers were the main hurdle in the way to prosperity. He said the country could not be reformed until the people who ran the system were reformed. He suggested 50 percent reduction in taxes, removal of Rs5,000 and Rs1,000 notes from the market and decrease in tax on money transaction to reduce corruption and encourage the business community.
